Independence Technology, L.L.C., a Johnson & Johnson Company

In response to consumer feedback, Independence Technology, L.L.C. has made a number of enhancements to the iBOT® Mobility System including updates to the seating system and unoccupied transportation solution. The new rehab seat is replacing our previous seating systems.

The information below highlights the product enhancements. For full product and functionality details visit About the iBOT®.

New Seating Enhancements

Armrests
  • Armrests – 2-point armrests that rotate vertically up and back out of the way for easy transfers. They lock in place in the horizontal position and are easily unlocked by pressing the quick release lever. The armrests are height adjustable and you have the choice of 2 arm pad lengths- 10.5 or 13.6 inches

Footrest Assembly
  • Footrest Assembly – these lightweight footrests can swing away or be removed for easy transfers. The length is adjustable and you have a choice of an 85 or 70 degree footrest angle. The footplates can be adjusted to a comfortable angle as well as flip up and out of the way when needed. The footplates also have attached heel loops for positioning your feet.

Optional Seating Features - Depending on your postural needs, we NOW offer the following items:

Contoured Headrest
  • Contoured Headrest – The contoured headrest is adjustable in height and angle. The contour shape is padded to provide head support and comfort for those consumers who prefer it.

Lateral Supports
  • Lateral Supports – The lateral supports are mounted to a track system, which provides a range of adjustability in height. The swing arm and pad can be positioned to provide trunk support and stability. The lateral support can easily swing out of the way for transfers by simply pushing the release button.

Calf Panel
  • Calf Panel – The calf panel can provide additional comfort and positioning of lower extremities.

  Improved Unoccupied Transport (Remote Function)

  Improved Unoccupied Transport
  • The new rehab seat provides the ability to fold the backrest flat on top of the seat pan providing an overall folded height of approximately 29 inches. This seating enhancement improves the ability to transport the iBOT® Mobility System unoccupied in a mini van and NOW some SUV's and station wagons. It will also help with airport travel for access into storage/cargo locations on board due to the overall compact size.

Note: For owners, the new rehab seat can be mounted to your existing iBOT® Mobility System. Please contact Service for details
