I'm
more independent with the iBOT®. Instead of having
to ask other people to do things like shovel snow or
get the mail, I can do them myself. Someday I may get
tired of shoveling snow, but after not being able to
do it for 10 years, it's fun!
I work part-time in the Maine Attorney General's office.
When I'm at work, I take my service dog outside during
lunch. Many of the sidewalks are cracked and damaged
and there are not always curb cutouts. With my old scooter,
I had to plan my path carefully to avoid certain streets.
Now with my iBOT®, I can go whatever direction I
want, because I'm confident the iBOT® can navigate
those obstacles.
At
work I can now reach high filing cabinets, instead of
asking a co-worker for help. In a conference room, I
can pull up to the table as if I'm sitting in a regular
chair. When I go to the cafeteria, I can reach things
more easily. Also, when having a conversation with other
people who are standing up, I go into the Balance Function
and don't have to strain my neck constantly looking
up.
With the iBOT®, my world is getting a little bigger
again. Winter doesn't mean staying indoors and what
I do isn't so limited. I'm accustomed to not even considering
going someplace with steps ... now there are so many
possibilities. The iBOT® Mobility System makes me
feel more independent and gives me many more choices
about what I can do and where I can go.
